Can I sell produce from my home garden at the
market?
Yes you can. You will need to join the Bartlesville Farmers’ Market
Association, which costs $20. If you join after July 31, the cost is just
$10. Read and agree to follow the Vendor Guidelines. Then each Saturday
that you sell, you pay the market a fee of 10% of your gross sales up to a
maximum of $10.
-
Can I sell homemade jams (jellies, sauces, baked
goods, etc.) at the market?
We follow the Oklahoma State Department of Health rules, so homemade
products may not be sold unless they are prepared in a commercial kitchen.
(Check to see if your church kitchen might qualify.) Call the Washington
County Health Department at 918-335-3005.

found under the overhang surrounding the Chamber of Commerce depot.

Do people come early? Do I need to be there at
8:00
am?
We request that our vendors not sell before 8:30 am when the triangle rings
to signal the opening of the market.
-
Can you promise me that there will still be eggs
(tomatoes, peaches, blackberries) at 10:45 am?

earlier hours of the morning if you are looking for particular items.

Examiner-Enterprise the Sunrise Reporter and the Good News.

Can my non-profit participate?
On the second and fourth Saturdays of the month we make space available
for a non-profit to publicize its cause or event. No sales are permitted by
non-profits. To inquire about a specific date, call us at 918-331-3766.
-
How can I sell my crafts at the market?
All crafts must be produced by the member selling the craft, and be
approved by two market Directors and the Market Manager prior to the
Saturday on which the member wishes to sell.
Because we wish to remain a food and garden-related market, we only permit
locally produced food or produce/garden-associated crafts.
Some examples of permissible items would include soaps or lotions made with
local herbs, goat milk or honey; herb wreaths/wands; locally made reusable
shopping bags; woodchips for smoking barbecue; ceramics for kitchen or
table; carved or painted gourds; garden sculptures or plant stands.
-
If I sell at the
market do I have to collect sales tax?
The seller is responsible for assessing each buyer with the appropriate
city, county and state sales taxes on products sold. This is required by
the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The Bartlesville Area Farmers’ Market
Association is NOT responsible for collection of sales taxes. Most vendors
incorporate the tax in their sales price.
Farmers’ market vendors usually qualify for “Casual Sales” status, which
does not require a tax ID number and can be filed once per year. Call the
Oklahoma Tax Commission at 405/521-3279 for further information.
The Market Manager has sample forms.
